Prayer IS Something

So, it’s what we’re doing at our place.

Service for Reconciliation Planned for Day After Election

Corydon, Indiana – October 31, 2016 – The Corydon Presbyterian Church will hold a special service for wholeness and reconciliation, which will be open to all, on Wednesday, November 9, at 6:15 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The plan responds to this year’s unusual election, which many have described as more stressful than any they can remember, and the strong feelings it has raised on all sides.

According to a statement from the church, “We believe that, whatever the decision is on Tuesday, we as Christians will still be ‘sent into the world as God’s reconciling community,’ as one of our confessions says, and will still be called to share the ‘labor of healing the enmities which separate [people] from God and from each other.’ We believe gathering together for prayers for the community, and its healing, and for the wisdom of whoever we have chosen as our leaders, is a concrete act of faith, hope, and love. Every such act is a part of that work of reconciliation. Every such act is a step in the direction of the common good we are all working and hoping for, in our many different ways. We hope anyone who feels they would like to join us in that act, or would find comfort or blessing in a service like this, will attend.”

Planners expect the service to last approximately 30 minutes.
