Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)

Call to Worship [Based on Psalm 51:1-12]

We come here together
drawn by the Spirit’s call –
whether we hear that call through tears of joy
or through tears of sorrow or remorse;
whether praise and thanksgiving are on our lips,
or lament,
or shame that stifles our prayer –

We are all called here together today
drawn by the author of life,
assembled by the designer of good,
sought out by the restorer of hope,
welcomed by the redeemer of humanity.

Let us answer with heart and soul and voice!
Let us worship God!

Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and sustain in me a willing spirit.
