Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)

Call to Worship [Based on James 2:1-17 and Mark 7:24-37]

Worship is a school, and as people worship they become.
If we worship wealth, we become grasping;
If we worship power, we become ruthless;
If we worship Light, we become wiser;
If we worship Love, we become more compassionate.
We have been possessed by the spirits all around us;
We have served at the altars of idols;
our hearts have been blinded and deafened.

Turn, and be healed.
Let us worship God.

My brothers and sisters, do you with your acts of favoritism really believe in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ?

“He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”

James 2:1 and Mark 7:37
