Sixth Sunday of Easter (C)

Call to Worship

[based on Revelation 21:22-22:5]

In heaven, there is no temple –
no need for a special place that reminds everyone “God is here!”
In heaven, there is no lamplight or sunlight –
no need for light to shine in the darkness
and remind everyone “God is still here.”

In heaven, the presence of God is always
      simply calling everyone to worship
      all the time
in wonder and awe and gratitude
      everywhere –

So even here, where it is not obviously heaven
and now, when it is not yet heaven
we are reminded – God is here –
Alleluia! Let us worship God!

And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
