Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time (C)

Call to Worship (based on Jeremiah 8:18-9:1, loosely)

In an embattled world, addicted to outrage and conflict,
The God of peace calls us to worship in Spirit and in truth.
In a suffering world, injured by violence and strife,
The God of healing calls us to worship in Spirit and in truth.
In a disillusioned world, discouraged by failures and problems,
The God of hope calls us to worship in Spirit and in truth.
Let us turn to the God of peace, healing, and hope!
Let us worship God!

Is there no balm in Gilead?
    Is there no physician there?
Why then has the health of the daughter of my people
    not been restored?

Jeremiah 8:22
