A Call to Worship
God is the author of light, who speaks light into being,
Who creates the light of sun, moon, and stars,
Whose commandment is clear, enlightening the eyes,
Whose Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path;
Let us worship God, whose light is love.
But the HOLY ONE said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the HOLY ONE does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the HOLY ONE looks on the heart.”
